Remodeling can be an easy fixture change or a complete tear out the wall shower and old tub then completely change the theme to a Modern, Contemporary, Mediterranean or that just right look you want to make you feel like you're in a spa at the end of a hard day's work without leaving your home!

There are unlimited designs and accent tiles you can use for either the wall or floor. But do not stop at just looking at tile. Look into the washed river stones! They look great on the floor or walls of your shower. Glass tile for accent areas are great too.

Like to sit on a tile seat while the water runs down your body? How about a 12 x 12 inch or a 12 x 24 inch nitch built into the wall and accented with the glass tile of your choice? We can even custom build a nitch of your design!

Squeeze every inch of floor space out of your custom bathroom remodeling by incorporating a pocket door. You can save up to 9 square feet with this option!

Do you have a small guest bathroom with the old pink tile your just sick of looking at? We can replace the tile with beautiful new tile and install a corner shower so you will not feel like your trapped in a small box!

What Do I Need to Know?

If you have an older house you probably have a ¾ inch sub-flooring with ½ inch plywood on top. What you need to understand is this.

Some of the newer homes only have a ¾ inch flooring. That is all! When you remodel a bathroom you need 1 ¼ inch of solid flooring to have a tile floor that will last you for years. Providing you have ¾ inch plywood for a sub flooring you can thin set, (a tile adhesive) and screw ½ inch Durock on top of your sub-flooring. If you have real 1 x lumber as a sub-flooring you have to have a minimum of 15lb black felt on top of that as a moisture barrier and then plywood at least ½ an inch thick that is screwed down. After that you can thinset and screw ¼ inch Durock on top of that. Serving areas including Columbia, SC and West Columbia, SC.Also serving Lexington, SC.

Durock Cement Board

  • Water-durable, mold resistant substrate for high moisture areas.
  • Suitable for use interior or exterior applications
  • Will not rot, warp, delaminate or disintegrate.
  • None combustible.

Thinset

  • The advantages of Thinset is that it can be used in areas where there are high amounts of moisture present. Although Thinset is not waterproof, it isn't water soluble. Where moisture is preset, it will not return to a liquefied state as Mastic would. Another advantage is that it's inorganic and thus is not a food source for mold growth.
  • Thinset is designed to adhere well in a think layer that's typically not greater than 3/16 inch thick. Thinset also provides structural support so that very minor adjustments in height can be made.

Kerdi-Schluter Shower Kit

  • Contrary to popular belief, tiles and grout joints are not inherently waterproof, and must be installed in conjunction with a waterproofing system that effectively manages moisture and prevents mold growth.
  • The Schluter Shower System is an integrated family of products that together form a fully bonded, watertight assembly for tiled showers. The Schluter Shower System eliminates the risk of failures due to water and vapor penetration and dramatically reduces total installation time. From drains to shower benches to waterproofing pipe seals, Schluter-Systems offers everything you need to ensure a dependable and watertight installation.

The Schluder Shower System is by far the best way to waterproof your new custom designed bathroom. The old saying you get what you pay for? That is Schluder! It is by far the best way to waterproof your new bath.

If you have a budget where the complete Schluder System is just not quite in your budget I highly recommend using it on the floor with a standard Durock wall. Water runs down hill...and it will help save you some money where you can invest it in other areas. Also serving Lexington, SC.

So How Much Will This Cost Me?

So How Much Will This Cost Me?

With different designs, installing tile, fixtures, lights, faucets, glass walls, glass block, moving walls electrical switches, pipes and vents...well it does get very involved to say the least.

What we do is give you a spreadsheet with allowances on each fixture, tile, glass walls, shower door and everything else you have a choice in buying. You get to shop around and see what you would like to buy! You will receive the spreadsheet once you have signed our contract. If you require an itemize spreadsheet and you have not signed our contract it will be an additional amount.
Enter the amount in our custom spreadsheet and it will tell you how much you saved! Pretty neat right?

To say we can give you a price on the phone or the first time we look at your project would be impossible. There are many things involved when you cut into a load bearing wall or have to run electrical circuits to your main, same thing with the plumbing and air conditioning. Accessibility is one.

This is not the true cost of a bathroom remodel. This is only an estimate from our experience. We call it a GOOD, BETTER and BEST SCALE.

Measure the floor of your existing bathroom. You need the square footage. Then multiply that by the scale we have below. This is only an estimate on what you may be paying by the square foot.

Scale

GOOD: $225.00
BETTER: $300.00
BEST: $350.00

EXAMPLE: 6x8 ft. Bathroom = 48 Square Feet

GOOD x 48: $225.00 = $10,800.00
BETTER x 48: $300.00 = $14,400.00
BEST x 48: $350.00 = $16,800.00

The end result after you choose your fixtures from our spreadsheet could save you thousands of dollars! It just depends if you want Italian marble or standard tile. A frame-less glass shower door and wall or a framed glass door and wall. The options are endless. That is what makes our projects so interesting and each so unique!
